Tuesday Poem – Songs of Aubergines

My mind

is a suitcase

back from holiday.

The lid rammed down.

An overload of souvenirs

popping though the gaps.

And then there is the litter

in my cupboards.

Pink elephants.

The songs

of aubergines.

And broken carapaces.

I take them to a mountain top

release them.

Clutterbirds

they rain

like fish

through the skies.

This poem is about clutter…and lightening up!

It is a new poem with old beginnings. Helen

  1. So liberating, Helen! Love the title – it really intrigued me. I’m shocking at getting rid of clutter, so the poem spoke volumes to me 🙂
