Emily Elizabeth Dickinson (December 10, 1830 – May 15, 1886) was an American poet. Dickinson was born in Amherst, Massachusetts.
I love this poem. She is not telling us to lie, rather, to be gentle. The interesting part is that often when truth is told more gently it is more truthful. I will allow you to think on this.
